Description
Leica 50mm f/2 Summicron V2 Rigid, late model with Amber coatings.
Lens has been serviced and restored, with the original Silver Chrome plating stripped off, and new Black Chrome applied by Camerakote UK.
The Black Chrome is colour-matched to existing Black Chrome used on the M10 and 50mm Summilux (as shown in the gallery).
This would make a fitting lens to be mated with any Black Chrome Leica M camera.
To the best of our research, this is the only Black Chrome 50mm Rigid we know to exist now.
Optics:
There are a few fine cleaning marks on the front element, near the ‘Z L’ of the word Wetzlar, as shown in one of the photos in the gallery. The cleaning marks don’t affect the image quality at all. Aside from the few front cleaning marks, rest of the optics are excellent for the age of the lens. Lens underwent a collimation, calibration and optical re-centering. Some sample images show, image quality is beautiful.
Mechanics:
Completely dismantled, ultrasonically cleaned, silver chrome stripped off, black chrome cerakote finish applied, new synthetic greases added in, then rebuilt from the ground up.
Notes:
Lens comes with a front E39 Hoya MC lens filter, a rear Leica branded cap and a front push on metal cap. Note, the Leica M camera and 50mm Summilux shown in some images in the gallery are for reference only, and not included in this listing.
