Leica 50mm f/2 Summicron V1 Rigid.
Lens has been serviced and restored, with the original Silver Chrome plating stripped off, and new English Coach High Gloss Black Lacquer applied by Camerakote UK.
The High Gloss Black Lacquer has to be seen to be appreciated, it’s mirror finish and will show the spatial reflections of the environment around it in its deep gloss black lacquer.
Generally excellent, just a few fine cleaning/ coating marks. The cleaning/ coating marks don’t affect the image quality at all, and are hard to photograph. The front element looks very good, as does the rear. Lens underwent a collimation, calibration and optical re-centering. Some sample images shown, image quality is beautiful.
Completely dismantled, ultrasonically cleaned, silver chrome stripped off, English Coach High Gloss Black Lacquer finish applied, helicoid polished and rehoned, new synthetic greases added in, then rebuilt from the ground up. Over time, the lens will brass, as the English Black Lacquer wears (like any other nice Gloss Black painted brass camera and lens).
Lens comes with a front E39 B+W XS-Pro MC lens filter, a rear Skyllaney branded metal cap and a Leica E39 front push on metal cap which is also painted in High Gloss Black Lacquer. Note, the Leica M camera shown in some images in the gallery are for reference only and not included in this listing.
