Description

Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/2 CRF lens converted to Leica M mount with full RF coupling from 0.7m to Infinity. Gloss black and brass finish. Lens focuses from 0.7m to Infinity and is T coated.

Mechanics: Fully ultrasonically cleaned. CNC modified to permit closer 0.7m minimum focus distance. Custom brass finger stick for quick focusing. Gloss black finish with white and red fonts. Aperture ring is brass also. Some of the black finished parts have ageing/ light scratches/ scuffs. New synthetic greases used inside aperture control and helicoid system. Note: RF cam stops just short of infinity, this is by design to prevent the lens from focusing past infinity at the smaller apertures due to the Sonnar focus shift. Metal black and silver push on cap.

Optics: Excellent condition for age. There is the usual micro air bubbles inside from usage of early German Schott glass. There are a few extremely minor cleaning marks and a few minor coating marks on rear element. Would advise using a front filter at al times to continue to protect the front element.
